Diagnoza Thinkly discoidal conch; umbilicus moderately wide; adult stage with flattened flanks, ventrolateral groove and tabulate venter. Steinkern with shallow, wide constrictions. Porównanie Most probably, N. spirorbis (Phillips, 1836) and N. germanicum (Schmidt, 1925) are conspecific with N. vittiger; also Fayettevillea paprothae Kullmann, 1990, based on juvenile specimens from a level in the late Asbian, is a synonym of N. vittiger; Nomismoceras rotiforme (Phillips, 1836) based on a well preserved immature specimen does not differ from typical N. vittiger.
